The counting of votes of the Somaliland constitutional referendum held on May 31, 2001 has been completed. The outcome of the referendum was provisionally announced soon after the completion of the counting process. The Results were officially announced two weeks later, on 14th June 2001, by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Somaliland.

The total number of people who voted stands at over one million at 1,188,154. Of these, more than a million people, or 97% of the voters, approved the constitution with only 34,460, or 3% of the voters, voting against. All regions of the six Somaliland regions approved the constitution by landslide majority. A breakdown of the results is shown below.
